arrow_up_1     Chapter 1

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that Christ was from the beginning, heard, seen, looked upon, handled, and is the Word of Life.

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

1-John 1: 1

Lord God the Father, thank You for proclaiming that Christ's life was manifest to be seen, to be witnessed, and to show that eternal life which was with the You, was manifested to us.

(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)

1-John 1: 2

Lord God, thank you for Your Word, so I may have fellowship with those who have fellowship with You and Your Son, that my joy may be full.

That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

1-John 1: 3-4

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You are light, and in You there is no darkness.

This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

1-John 1: 5

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that if we say we have fellowship with You, but walk in darkness, we lie, and do not practice the truth.

Lord God, cause me to walk in Your light, live in truth, and have fellowship with You.

If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

1-John 1: 6

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that if we walk in the light, as You are in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Your Son, Jesus Christ, cleanses us from all sin.

Lord God, cause me to walk in the light, have fellowship with others, and allow the blood of Jesus Christ, Your Son, to cleanse me from all sin.

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

1-John 1: 7

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that if we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Lord God, place Your truth in me, so I will not say I have no sin.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

1-John 1: 8

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Lord God, cause me to confess my sins, as You are faithful and just to forgive my sins, and cleanse me from all unrighteousness.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1-John 1: 9

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that if we say we have not sinned, we are calling You a liar, and Your word is not in us.

Lord God, place Your word in me, so I will not say I have not sinned.

If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

1-John 1: 10

arrow_up_1     Chapter 2

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You caused this book to be written so we would not sin.  But if any man sins, we have an advocate with You, who is Jesus Christ the righteous.

Lord God, thank You for Your word so that I might not sin, and for providing Jesus Christ, a righteous advocate, that is able to intercede for me when I do.

My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

1-John 2: 1

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that Jesus Christ is the propitiation for our sins.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that Jesus Christ is the propitiation for the sins of the whole world.

Lord God, cause Jesus to make atonement for my sins.

And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

1-John 2: 2

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that we know that we know Christ, if we keep his commandments.

Lord God, cause me to keep Christ's commandments, so I will know that I know him.

And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

1-John 2: 3

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that those who say they know Christ, and do not keep his commandments, are liars, and the truth is not in them.

Lord God, cause me to keep Christ's commandments, know him, and have the truth in me.

He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1-John 2: 4

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that Your love is perfected in those who keep Christ's word, and by this, they know they are in him.

Lord God, cause me to keep Your word, and perfect Your love in me, giving me confidence that I am in Christ.

But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

1-John 2: 5

Lord God, as a witness to my claiming that I abide in Christ, cause me to walk, even as he walked.

He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

1-John 2: 6

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that there is a new commandment, which is true, because the darkness is past, and the true light now shines.

Lord God, thank You for Your commandments of old, to love my brother, which is now able to be seen in the true light of Christ, which is now shining.

Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning. Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.

1-John 2: 7-8

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that those who say they are in the light, and hate their brother, are still in darkness.

Lord God, cause me to abide in Christ's light, and to not hate others.

He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.

1-John 2: 9

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that he that loves his brother is in the light, and nothing will be able to make him stumble.

Lord God, cause me to abide in Christ's light, sincerely loving others, so nothing will be able to make me stumble.

He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.

1-John 2: 10

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that those who hate their brother are in darkness, and do not know where they go, because darkness has blinded their eyes.

Lord God, keep me from hating others, so darkness will not blind my eyes, and I will know where I am going.

But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.

1-John 2: 11

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that is written to us, because our sins are forgiven for Jesus' name sake.

Lord God, thank You for Your words, even to little children, that they may know their sins are forgiven for Jesus' name's sake.

I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake.

1-John 2: 12

Lord God, cause me to know You, and to overcome the wicked one.

I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father.

1-John 2: 13

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You have written to fathers, because they have known You, who is from the beginning. And You have written to young men, because they are strong, the word of God abides in them, and they have overcome the wicked one.

Lord God, cause me to know You, be strong, have Your word abide in me, and overcome the wicked one.

I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.

1-John 2: 14

Lord God, thank You for Your instruction, to not love the world, or the things of the world.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that if any man loves the world, Your love is not in him.

Lord God, cause Your love to be in me, and keep me from loving the world, and the things that are in the world.

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

1-John 2: 15

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that the things of the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, are not from You, but are of the world.

Lord God, cause me to have no desire for the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

1-John 2: 16

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that the world, and the lust of the world, will pass away, but those who do Your will, will abide forever.

Lord God, keep me from the lust of the world, and cause me to do Your will, and to abide forever.

And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

1-John 2: 17

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that we know that we are in the last time, because we have heard that antichrist will come, and there are many antichrists in the world.

Lord God, there have been many antichrists, and even now there are many antichrists, so I know we are in the last time.

Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

1-John 2: 18

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that those who are of the faith, will continue in the faith.

Lord God, cause me to demonstrate my faith, by continuing with the faithful, and not straying from the faith.

They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

1-John 2: 19

Lord God, anoint me with Your Spirit, so I may know the truth.

But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

1-John 2: 20

Lord God, thank You for writing Your truth, so I may verify the truths I have been taught by the Spirit.

I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.

1-John 2: 21

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that a liar denies Jesus Christ, and an antichrist denies You and Your Son.

Lord God, cause me to not deny that Jesus is the Messiah, or deny You and Your Son.

Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

1-John 2: 22

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that whoever denies Your Son, does not have You, but the person who confesses Your Son, has You also.

Lord God, I acknowledge Your Son, Jesus, is the Christ, and the Messiah.

Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

1-John 2: 23

Lord God, thank You for Your instruction, to let that abide in us, that we have heard from the beginning.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that if that which we have heard from the beginning, shall remain in us, we shall continue with the Son, and in the Father.

Lord God, may Your truth abide in me, and remain in me, so I may continue to abide with You and Your Son.

Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.

1-John 2: 24

Lord God, thank You for Your promise, that You have promised us, which is eternal life.

Lord God, cause me to hold tightly to Your promise of eternal life.

And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

1-John 2: 25

Lord God, thank You for Your truths, written concerning those who will try to deceive me.

Lord God, cause Your word to keep me from being deceived.

These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.

1-John 2: 26

Lord God, thank You for abiding in me, anointing me, teaching me all things, and teaching in truth, that I should abide in You.

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

1-John 2: 27

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that we should abide in Christ, that when he appears, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before Him, at His coming.

Lord God, cause me to abide in You, and when You appear, give me confidence, and make me not ashamed before You, at Your coming.

And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

1-John 2: 28

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that those who know that Christ is righteous, also know that every one that does righteousness is born of Him.

Lord God, cause me to be born of Christ, and to do righteousness.

If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.

1-John 2: 29

arrow_up_1   Chapter 3

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that it is a great manner of Love that You have bestowed on us, that we should be called Your sons.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that the world does not know us, because it does not know You.

Lord God, in a great manner of love, cause me to be called, one of Your sons.

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

1-John 3: 1

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that we are Your children.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that it has not yet been revealed what we will be like.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that when Christ appears, we will be like him, as we will see him as he is.

Lord God, cause me to be Your son.

Lord God, make me to be like Christ when he appears.

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

1-John 3: 2

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that all those who have hope in Christ, purifies himself, even as Christ is pure.

Lord God, cause me to have hope in Christ.

Lord God, cause me to purify myself, just as Christ is pure.

And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

1-John 3: 3

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that committing sin is the transgression of Your law.

Lord God, cause me to be righteous, and to not transgress Your law.

Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

1-John 3: 4

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that Christ was manifest to take away our sins.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that in Christ, there is no sin.

Lord God, cause Christ, who has no sin, to take away my sin.

And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

1-John 3: 5

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that whoever abides in Christ, does not sin, and whoever sins has not seen Him, and does not know Him.

Lord God, keep me from sin as I abide in You, and know You.

Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

1-John 3: 6

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that those who do righteousness are righteous, even as Christ is righteous.

Lord God, cause me to do righteousness, and to be righteous, just as Christ is righteous.

Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

1-John 3: 7

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that those who commit sin are of the devil, for the devil sinned from the beginning.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that Your Son was manifested, to destroy the works of the devil.

Lord God, thank You for manifesting Your Son to destroy the works of the devil.

He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

1-John 3: 8

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that those who are born of God, do not commit sin, and cannot live in sin, because Your seed is inside them.

Lord God, place Your seed inside me, and keep me from living in sin, as an assurance that I am born of You.

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

1-John 3: 9

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that Your children are made evident, in that they have Your seed in them, and do not live in sin.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that the children of the devil are made evident, and are those who do not do righteousness, and those who do not love their brother.

Lord God, make it evident I am Your child, by causing me to do righteousness, and to love others.

In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

1-John 3: 10

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that was made known from the beginning, that we should love one another.

Lord God, cause me to love others.

For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.

1-John 3: 11

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that Cain killed his brother, because his works were evil, and his brothers were righteous.

Lord God, keep me from wickedness, from hating my brother, and from repaying evil for good.

Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.

1-John 3: 12

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that as Your children, being righteous, we should not marvel if the world hates us.

Lord God, cause me to expect it, and to not marvel, if the world hates me.

Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

1-John 3: 13

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that we know we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that those who do not love their brothers, abide in death.

Lord God, give me a heart that loves the brethren, giving me reassurance that I have passed from death to life, and no longer abide in death.

We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

1-John 3: 14

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that those who hate their brothers are murderers, and do not have eternal life abiding in them.

Lord God, cause me to love the brethren, and to have eternal life abiding in me.

Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

1-John 3: 15

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, we can know what love is by Your example, when Your Son laid down his life for us, and we should lay our lives down for our brothers.

Lord God, thank You for demonstrating Your love, in that You laid down Your life for me, which is an example of the type love I should have.

Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

1-John 3: 16

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that Your love is not dwelling in those who see their brother in need, and do not have pity on him.

Lord God, cause Your love dwelling in me, to demonstrate itself through my having compassion on those who are in need, and meeting those needs with what things in my life You have provided.

But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

1-John 3: 17

Lord God, thank You for Your instruction, to not love in word or tongue, but in deed and truth.

Lord God, instead of loving in word or talk, cause me to love in action and truth.

My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

1-John 3: 18

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that we know we are of the truth, when we love in deed and truth, and not just in word and tongue, and by this, our hearts can be assured before You.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that when my love is demonstrated in my actions, and not just in my speech, I can know I am of the truth, and my heart can rest in Your presence.

And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.

1-John 3: 19

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that if our heart condemns us, You are greater than our hearts, and know all things.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that if my heart should condemn me, You are greater than my heart, and You know all things.

For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.

1-John 3: 20

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that if our heart does not condemn us, then we have confidence towards You.

Lord God, thank You for the confidence I have towards You, when I do not feel condemnation in my heart.

Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.

1-John 3: 21

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that whatsoever we ask, we receive of You, and we do those things that are pleasing in Your sight.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that when I keep Your commandments, and do what is pleasing in Your sight, I will receive whatever I ask of You.

And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

1-John 3: 22

Lord God, thank You for Your commandment, that we should believe on the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, and should love one another.

Lord God, cause me to keep Your commandment, that I should believe on the name of Your Son Jesus Christ, and I should love others as You have commanded me.

And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

1-John 3: 23

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that those who keep Your commandments dwells in You, and You in him.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that we know You abide in us, by the Spirit You have given us.

Lord God, cause me to continually believe on the name of Your Son Jesus Christ, and cause mt to know You abide in me, by the Spirit which You have given me.

And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

1-John 3: 24

arrow_up_1   Chapter 4

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Lord God, thank You for Your instruction, to not believe every spirit, but to try the spirits to see whether they are from You.

Lord God, give me wisdom to try the spirits, whether they are from You, so I will not be led astray by false prophets.

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

1-John 4: 1

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh, is of You.

Lord God, cause me to understand that every spirit that confesses Jesus Christ has come in the flesh, is of You.

Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

1-John 4: 2

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that the spirits that do not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh, is not of You. These spirits, are the the spirit of the antichrist, which You told us were coming, and are already in the world.

Lord God, thank You for Your wisdom concerning spirits confessing Jesus Christ, that a spirit that does not confess Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of You, and is the spirit of antichrist, which I was told was coming, and is already in the world.

And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

1-John 4: 3

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that we are able to overcome the spirit of antichrist, because we are of You, and You are greater than he who is in the world.

Lord God, cause me to be able to overcome the spirits of the antichrist, by Your dwelling in me, since You are greater than he that is in the world.

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

1-John 4: 4

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that the spirits of the antichrist are of the world, they speak of the world, and the world listens to them.

Lord God, cause me to not be deceived by the deceiving spirits, and to be discerning if I should hear their false messages.

They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.

1-John 4: 5

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that Your children hear Your truth, and those who are not Your children can not hear Your truth. By this, we can know the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

Lord God, cause me to listen to, and understand Your truth, and correctly discern the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

1-John 4: 6

Lord God, thank You for Your instruction, to love one another.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that love is of You, and every one that loves, is born of You, and knows You

Lord God, cause me to love others, and know I am born of You, and know You.

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

1-John 4: 7

Lord God, thank You for the truth, that if I do not love, I can not know You, for You are love.

Lord God, cause me to know You, and to love.

He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

1-John 4: 8

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that Your love was made evident to us, by You sending Your one and only Son into the world, that we might live through Him.

Lord God, thank You for demonstrating Your love for me, by sending Your one and only Son into the world, that I might live through Him.

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

1-John 4: 9

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that love is not understood by our love for You, but by You demonstrating the love You have for us, by sending Your Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Lord God, thank You for loving me, before I loved You, and for sending Your Son to make amends for my sins.

Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

1-John 4: 10

Lord God, thank You for Your instruction, to love one another, because You loved everyone enough to send Your one and only Son, to make amends for their sins.

Lord God, cause me to love others, as You loved them enough to send Your one and only Son to make amends for their sins.

Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

1-John 4: 11

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that no man has seen You at any time, but when we love one another, You dwell in us, and Your love is perfected in us.

Lord God, perfect Your love in me, by dwelling in me, and allowing me to demonstrate Your love to others.

No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

1-John 4: 12

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that we know we dwell in You, and You in us, because You have given us of Your Spirit.

Lord God, give me of Your Spirit, and cause me to know I dwell in You, and You dwell in me.

Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.

1-John 4: 13

Lord God, thank You for the testimony, that You sent Your Son to be the Saviour of the World.

Lord God, cause me to see, and be a testimony that You sent Your Son to be the Saviour of the world.

And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

1-John 4: 14

Lord God, thank You for Your promise, that whoever confesses that Jesus is Your Son,  dwells in You, and You dwell in him.

Lord God, I confess, and my heart bears witness, that Jesus is Your Son, and I thank you for your promise that You dwell in me, and I dwell in You.

Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

1-John 4: 15

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that Your children know, and believe the love You have for them.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You are love, and those who dwell in love, dwell in You, and You dwell in them.

Lord God, cause me to know, and believe that You love me. And, cause me to dwell in love, so I will dwell in You, and You will dwell in me.

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

1-John 4: 16

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that as we dwell in love, and we dwell in You, and You dwell in us, our love is made perfect, so we are able to have boldness in the day of judgment, because we represent Your love in this world.

Lord God, cause my love to be made perfect, representing You in this world, so I may have boldness in the day of judgment.

Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world

1-John 4: 17

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that there is no fear in love, and perfect love casts out fear, because fear has torment.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that those who fear, are not made perfect in love.

Lord God, make my love for You, and my love for others perfect, as Your love is perfect, not being based on any type of fear.

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

1-John 4: 18

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that we love You, because You first loved us.

Lord God, thank You for loving me, so I am able to love You.

We love him, because he first loved us.

1-John 4: 19

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that if I hate my brother, who I have seen, and say I love You, whom I have not seen, then I am a liar.

Lord God, cause me to have love for my brother, before I make a claim that I love You.

If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

1-John 4: 20

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, and commandment, that to love You, I must also love my brother.

Lord God, cause me to love my brother, just as I love You.

And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

1-John 4: 21

arrow_up_1   Chapter 5

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that whoever believes Jesus Christ was born of You, and every one who truly loves You, also loves Him that is born of You.

Lord God, I believe that Jesus is the Messiah, and was born of You. As I love You, I also love the one born of You.

Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

1-John 5: 1

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that we know we love Your children, when we love You, and keep Your commandments.

Lord God, cause me to keep Your commandments, as a witness that I love Your children, and that I love You.

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

1-John 5: 2

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that loving You means, we keep Your commandments, and Your commandments are not grievous.

Lord God, give me a desire to keep Your commandments, and give me a heart to keep them cheerfully.

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

1-John 5: 3

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that everyone born of You overcomes the world, and the victory that overcomes the world is our faith.

Lord God, cause me to have faith, to be born of You, and to overcome the world.

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

1-John 5: 4

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that those who overcome the world, believe that Jesus is Your son.

Lord God, cause me to believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son, and to overcome the world.

Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

1-John 5: 5

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that Jesus Christ came by water and blood, and not by water only.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that the Spirit bears witness, because the Spirit is truth.

This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.

1-John 5: 6

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that there are three who bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth that these three, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost, are one.

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

1-John 5: 7

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that there are three on earth that witness, the Spirit, the water, and the blood, and these three are in agreement.

Lord God, cause me to understand, that there are three on earth that bear witness, the Spirit, the water, and the blood, and these three are in agreement.

And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

1-John 5: 8

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that if we accept man's witness of Your Son, then we should accept Your witness too, as You have also testified of Him, and Your testimony is greater.

Lord God, having received the witness of men, that Jesus Christ is Your Son, You have also witnessed that Jesus is Your Son, and Your witness is greater.

If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.

1-John 5: 9

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that those who have believed on Your Son, have the witness in themselves.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that those who do not believe on Your Son, are calling You a liar, because they do not believe the record that You have given of Your Son.

Lord God, I have the witness within me, and I believe the record which You have given of Your Son.

He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

1-John 5: 10

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that the record You have given of Your Son, is that You have given us eternal life, and this life is in Your Son.

Lord God, thank You for Your testimony that life is in Your Son, and he who has Your Son, has eternal life.

And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

1-John 5: 11

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that those who have Your Son, have life, and those who do not have Your Son, do not have life.

Lord God, cause me to have Your Son, and to have life.

He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

1-John 5: 12

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that this letter was written to those who believe on the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, that they may know they have eternal life, and that they may continue to believe on the name of Your Son.

Lord God, thank You for Your word, that I may believe on the name of Your Son, and may know that I have eternal life, and continue to believe on the Name of Your Son.

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

1-John 5: 13

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that we can have confidence, that if we ask anything according to Your will, You will hear us.

Lord God, cause me to ask things according to Your will, and give me confidence that You will hear me.

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

1-John 5: 14

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that if we ask anything according to Your will, and we know You hear our petition, then whatever we ask, we know we have the petitions we desire of You.

Lord God, cause me to ask things according to Your will, give me confidence that You hear me, and cause me to know that I have the petitions I desire of You.

And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

1-John 5: 15

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that when we see a brother sin a sin not unto death, we should ask, and You will give him life.

Lord God, cause me to pray for those I see committing sin that is not unto death, that through promise, You will give them life through Your Son.

If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

1-John 5: 16

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that all unrighteousness is sin, but there is sin that does not bring death.

All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.

1-John 5: 17

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that whoever is born of You does not sin, but Your Son keeps them safe, and the wicked one does not touch them.

Lord God, having been born of You, cause me to put away sin, and trust in Your Son to keep me safe, and to keep the wicked one from harming me.

We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

1-John 5: 18

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that we can know we are of You, even when the whole world lies in wickedness.

Lord God, cause me to know that I am of You.

And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.

1-John 5: 19

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that Your Son has come and given us an understanding, that we may know You, and we are in You, and even in Your Son Jesus Christ, and he is the true God, and eternal life.

Lord God, thank You for sending Your Son into the world so I can have understanding. Thank you for allowing me to abide in You and in Your son, Jesus Christ, as He is the true God and eternal life.

And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

1-John 5: 20

Lord God, thank You for Your instruction, to keep ourselves from idols.

Lord God, keep me from, following after, worshiping, or trusting in idols.

Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.
