Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that according to Your divine power, You have given us all things that pertain to life and godliness.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that all things that pertain to life and godliness, are given to us through the knowledge of Your Son.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that through the knowledge of Your Son, we are given exceedingly great and precious promises.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that through Your great and precious promises, we are able to be partakers of Your divine nature.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that by Your promises, and through Your Son calling us to glory and virtue, we are able to escape the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Lord God, please cover me with Your exceedingly great and precious promises, so that through them I may participate in Your divine nature, and escape corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You know how to deliver the godly out of temptations.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You reserve the unjust until the day of judgment, to be punished.
|
Lord God, cause me to be godly, and deliver me out of temptations.

The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that with You, one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years is as one day.

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You are not slow in keeping Your promise, as some understand slowness.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You are patient with us, not wanting any to perish, but for all to come to repentance.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that Your Son will come back as a thief in the night.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that after Your Son comes back as a thief in the night, the heavens will pass away with a great noise, the elements will melt with intense heat, and the works of the earth shall be burned up.

Lord God, thank You for being patient with me regarding my sin. Thank You for not wanting me to perish, but instead offering me the gift of life through Your Son, Jesus. Sustain in me a repentant heart, and cause me to seek after righteousness. Make no delay in making me able to live the life of one who loves You.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

Lord God, cause me to trust in Your promise, and to look forward to new heavens, and a new earth, where righteousness will dwell.

Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
