arrow_up_1     Chapter 1

Lord, establish in my heart, trust in your sovereignty and judgment. Help me follow after righteousness, and to have mercy and patience towards people who act treacherously towards me.

Art thou not from everlasting, O LORD my God, mine Holy One? we shall not die. O LORD, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction. Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?

Habakkuk 1: 12-13

arrow_up_1     Chapter 2

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that when Habakkuk stood on his watch, upon a tower, and looked for what You would speak to him, You answered him.

Lord God, cause me to stand on my watch, and look to see what You would speak to me.

Lord God, cause me to listen to You, and act upon what You say to me.

I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will look forth to see what he will speak with me, and what I shall answer concerning my complaint.  And Jehovah answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tablets, that he may run that readeth it.

Habakkuk 2: 1-2 (ASV)

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that we can be proud, and have our soul not right within us.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that the righteous live by faith.

Lord God, cause me to be righteous, by living in faith.

Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

Habakkuk 2: 4

For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

Habakkuk 2: 14

Lord God, thank You for Your instruction that we are not to give others alcoholic drinks, so that we may look on their nakedness.

Lord God, cause me to not give others alcoholic drinks, so I may sin against You.

Woe unto him that giveth his neighbour drink, that puttest thy bottle to him, and makest him drunken also, that thou mayest look on their nakedness!

Habakkuk 2: 15

But the LORD is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him.

Habakkuk 2: 20

arrow_up_1     Chapter 3

O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.

Habakkuk 3: 2

Lord, even when all else fails I will rejoice and have Joy in You, for You are the God of my Salvation.

Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.

Habakkuk 3: 17-18

The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.

Habakkuk 3: 19
