Lord God, cause me to hate those who regard lying vanities.

Lord God, while others may be devoted to worthless idols, I have placed my trust in You.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You are able to have mercy on us.

Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that our strength can fail because of our iniquity.

 

Lord God, keep me from iniquity, and give me strength.

 

For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength faileth because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed.

I was a reproach among all mine enemies, but especially among my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance: they that did see me without fled from me.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You store up goodness for them who fear You.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You will hide those who fear You, in the secret of Your presence, from the pride of man.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You will keep those who fear You, secretly in a pavilion from the strife of quarrelsome speech.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You are blessed, because You have shown Your marvelous kindness in a strong city.

 

Lord God, thank You for showing Your marvelous kindness in a strong city.

 

Blessed be the LORD: for he hath shewed me his marvellous kindness in a strong city.

 

Psalm 31: 21

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that even when we believe we have been cut off from before Your eyes, You are able to hear the voice of our supplications when we cry out to You.

 

Lord God, cause me to cry out to You with supplications, even when I may hastily believe I am cut off from before Your eyes.

Lord God, thank You for Your instruction, for Your saints to love You.

 

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You preserve the faithful.

Lord God, thank You for Your instruction, to be of good courage.

 

Lord God, thank You for promise that You strengthen the hearts of those who are of good courage.

 

Lord God, thank You for promise that You strengthen the hearts of all those who hope in the Lord.

 

Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.

Lord God, cause me not to keep silent about my sin.

 

Lord God, cause my body to not waste away, as I groan in my sin all day long.

 

When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that if we are silent about our sin, You hand can be heavy against us.

 

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that if we are silent about our sin, you may dry up our strength as in the heat of summer.

 

Lord God, cause me to acknowledge my sin to You.

 

Lord God, do not turn Your hand against me.

 

For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.

 

Psalm 32: 4

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that when we acknowledge our sin to You, You are able to forgive the iniquity of our sin.

 

Lord God, cause me to acknowledge my sin to You.

 

Lord God, cause me to not hid my sin to You.

 

Lord God, cause me confess my transgressions to you.

 

Lord God, forgive the iniquity of my sin.

Lord God, thank You for Your instruction, to pray to You and acknowledge our transgressions before You.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that those who pray to You when You can be found, and who acknowledge their transgressions before You, are able to be be protected from the storms of this life.

Lord God, thank You for saving me from the storms that may have encompassed me.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You are able to be our hiding place.

 

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You are able to preserve us from trouble.

 

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You are able to surround us with songs of deliverance.

 

Lord God, be my hiding place, and my refuge.

 

Lord God, keep me protected from trouble.

Lord God, thank You for protecting me, preserving me, and delivering me to safety,

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You will instruct us, and teach is in the way we should go.

 

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You will guide us with Your eye.

 

Lord God, instruct me and teach me the way I should go.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You look from heaven and behold all of us on earth.

 

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that from the place of Your habitation, you look upon us all.

 

Lord God, look upon me from Your dwelling place, and behold my love for You.

 

The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men.  From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that fashion the hearts of men in a like manner.

 

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You consider all the works of men.

 

Lord God, consider all my works, and behold my love for You.

 

He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that there is no king that is saved by a mighty army.

 

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that mighty men are not delivered by their strength.

 

Lord God, protect the righteous countries who have You as their God.

 

Lord God, deliver me with Your strength.

 

There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that a horse can not be trusted for a man's safety.

 

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that even by the strength of a horse, a man can not be delivered.

 

Lord God, cause me to rely on You, for my safety and my deliverance.

 

An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that Your eye is on those who fear You, and who hope in Your mercy.

My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that it is good to hope place our hope in You.

 

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You are able to hear those who hope in You.

 

Lord God, cause me to hope in You.

 

Lord God, hear me, Oh Lord my God.

 

For in thee, O LORD, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God.

 

Psalm 38: 15

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You are able to hear those who place their hope in You.

 

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You are able to keep others from rejoicing over those who place their hope in You, when their foot may have slipped.

 

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You are able to keep others from magnifying themselves against those who place their hope in You, when their foot may have slipped.

 

Lord God, hear me, as I am Your servant who has placed his hope in You. Keep them from rejoice over me when my foot slips, and from boasting against me when I stumble.

 

For I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me: when my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me.

 

Psalm 38: 16

 

For I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that it is good to declare our iniquity.

 

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that it is good to be sorry for our sin.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that our enemies can be lively and strong.

 

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, those who hate us wrongfully can increase.

 

Lord God, do not leave me, for my enemies are vigorous and powerful.

 

Lord God, do not leave me, for more and more people hate me for wrong reasons.

 

But mine enemies are lively, and they are strong: and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied.

 

Psalm 38: 19

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that when we follow what is good, our adversaries can render evil for good.

 

Lord God, cause me to do the things that are good.

 

Lord God, protect me from those who would render evil for good.

 

They also that render evil for good are mine adversaries; because I follow the thing that good is.

 

Psalm 38: 20

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that it is good if You do not forsake us.

 

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that it is good when You are near us.

 

Lord God, do not forsake me.

 

Lord God, do not be far from me.

 

Forsake me not, O LORD: O my God, be not far from me.

 

Psalm 38: 21

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that there are times when we need Your help speedily.

 

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that you are the Lord of salvation.

 

Lord God, listen for my cry.

 

Lord God, make haste to help me.

 

Lord God, be the Lord of my salvation.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You are able to deliver us from our transgressions.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that we dwell with You as an alien.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that all our fathers have dwelt with You as an alien, and as a stranger.

 

Lord God, hear my prayer, and give an ear to my cry.

Lord God, put a new song in my mouth, that gives praise to You. Cause many to see, fear, and put their trust in You.

 

And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.

Lord God, cause me to make You my trust, to not respect the proud, and to not go astray into falsehood.

 

Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.

Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,

Lord God, make Your will my delight, and place Your law within my heart.

 

I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, thou knowest.

I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.

Lord God, do not withhold Your tender mercies from me, and let Your lovingkindness and truth continually preserve me.

Psalm 40: 11

Lord God, sometimes I lose courage as evil surrounds me, and my iniquities take hold of me, so much that I am not able to look up. In these times, be pleased to deliver me, and do not be slow to help me.

 

For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me. Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste to help me.

 

Psalm 40: 12-13

 

Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil.

 

Psalm 40: 14

 

Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha.

Lord God, cause me to seek You, rejoice, and be glad in You, and let me continually say, The Lord be magnified.

 

Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified.

 

Psalm 40: 16

Lord God, although poor and needy, You think of me. Do not delay, as I trust You as my help and my deliverer.

 

But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.
