Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that Peter was an apostle of Jesus Christ.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that Peters target audience for this letter, was people that he did not know.

Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

1-Peter 1: 1

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that Peter was elect according to Your foreknowledge.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that Peter was elect through the sanctification of the Spirit.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that Peter was elect unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that Peters greeting was for grace and peace to be multiplied.

Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

1-Peter 1: 2

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,  To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

1-Peter 1: 3-4

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that we are kept by Your power, through faith for a salvation, ready to be revealed in the last time.

Lord God, keep me by Your power. Through faith in You, and believing on Your promises, grant me Your salvation in the last time.

Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

1-Peter 1: 5

Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:

1-Peter 1: 6

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that the trial of our faith, is much more precious than gold that perishes.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that our faith may be tested by fire.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that when our faith tested by fire, it is able to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Lord God, strengthen my faith so it will stand firm.  Help the trials of my faith result in praise, and honor, and glory at the appearing of Your Son, Jesus Christ.

That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

1-Peter 1: 7

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that although we have not seen You, we can love You.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that without seeing You, but believing, we can rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory.

Lord God, I have not seen you, but by faith I carry the joy of you in my heart. My joy is unspeakable and full of glory, as words can not explain my love for you. My faith, and belief, allow me to subject myself to You, and to rely on You.

Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

1-Peter 1: 8

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that our faith ends in something received.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that the end of our faith is the salvation of our souls.

Lord God, cause me to receive the end of my faith, which is the salvation of my soul.

Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

1-Peter 1: 9

Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;  But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

1-Peter 1: 18-19

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that the precious blood of Jesus Christ, was foreordained before the foundation of the world.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that the precious blood of Jesus Christ, was manifested in these last times for us.

Lord God, thank You for revealing that You foreordained the precious blood of Your Son, Jesus Christ before the foundation of the world, and it was manifested in these last times, for me.

Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

1-Peter 1: 20

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that by Your Son, we believe in You.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You raised Your Son up from the dead.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You gave Your Son glory.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You raised Your Son from the dead, and gave him glory, that our faith and hope might be in You.

Lord God, thank You for allowing me to believe in You by Your Son, Jesus Christ, who You raised from the dead, and who You gave glory, so my faith and hope might be in You. Cause my faith and hope to be in You.

Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

1-Peter 1: 21

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that we are able to purify our souls by obeying the truth through the Spirit, and develop a sincere love of our brothers.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that we are able to develop a sincere love of our brothers, by obeying the truth through the Spirit.

Lord God, cause me to purify my soul by obedience to the truth, and a sincere brotherly love, loving others earnestly with a pure heart.

Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

1-Peter 1: 22

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that when we are born again, we are born of an incorruptible seed by Your word.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You live and abide forever.

Lord God, cause me to be born again of incorruptible seed, and by Your word.

Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

1-Peter 1: 23

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that all flesh is like grass.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that the glory of man is as the flower of grass.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that all flesh is like the grass that withers.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that the glory of man is like the flower of grass that falls away.

Lord God, thank You for reminding me that my lifespan is limited, and will end after a season.

Lord God, cause me to understand Your wisdom, that all flesh is like grass that withers, and the glory of man is as the flower of the grass that falls away.

For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:

1-Peter 1: 24

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that the gospel is preached by Your word.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that Your word endures forever.

Lord God, thank you for Your truth, that different from flesh, and different than the glory of man, Your word endures forever, and it is by Your word which the gospel is preached.

Lord God, thank You for causing Your word to endure forever.

Lord God, thank You for Your gospel, which is preached by Your word.

But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that we should lay aside all envies.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that we should lay aside all evil speaking.

Lord God, help me do what is right, deal fairly with others, and be content with what You have given me.

Lord God, cause my speech, and the words I use, to be for Your glory.

Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,

1-Peter 2: 1

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that as new believers, we are like newborn babes.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that new believers should desire the sincere milk of the word, so by it we are able to grow.

Lord God, feed me Your word so I may experience spiritual growth.

Lord God, when my life on this earth ends, I look forward to experiencing Your graciousness by way of my salvation.

As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

1-Peter 2: 2-3

Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

1-Peter 2: 5

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

1-Peter 2: 9

Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

1-Peter 2: 24

arrow_up_1     Chapter 3

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that a woman's beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair, and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that a woman's beauty should come from that of her inner self, and the unfading beauty of a gentle and quite spirit.

Lord, let my beauty shine forth from my inner self, and cause me to yield myself to a gentle and quiet spirit.

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes.  Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.

1-Peter 3: 4 (NIV)

Lord God, thank You for Your instruction to all be of one mind, having compassion for each other, loving as brethren, having pity, and being courteous.

Lord God, cause me to have one mind with other believers, sympathetic, loving, compassionate, and humble.

Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:

1-Peter 3: 8

Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

1-Peter 3: 9

For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:

1-Peter 3: 10

Lord God, thank You for Your instruction, to turn from evil, and to do god.

Lord God, thank You for Your instruction, to seek peace and pursue it.

Lord God, cause me to turn from evil and do good, to seek peace and pursue it.

Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.

1-Peter 3: 11

For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers:

1-Peter 3: 12

And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?

1-Peter 3: 13

But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

1-Peter 3: 14

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

1-Peter 3: 15

For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

1-Peter 3: 18

Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.

1-Peter 3: 22

arrow_up_1     Chapter 4

Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.

1-Peter 4: 1-2

For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.

1-Peter 4:6

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that the end of all things is near.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that because the end of all things is near, we should be self-controlled, and sober minded, for the purpose of our prayers.

Lord, cause me to be clear minded, sober, self controlled, and to give myself to prayer.

But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.

1-Peter 4: 7

And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

Use hospitality one to another without grudging.

As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

1 Peter 4:10

If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

1-Peter 4:11

Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:

1-Peter 4:12

But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

1-Peter 4:13

If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.

1-Peter 4:14

But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters.

1-Peter 4:15

Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.

1-Peter 4:16

For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

1-Peter 4:17

And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

1-Peter 4:18

Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

1-Peter 4:19

arrow_up_1     Chapter 5

Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

Lord God, thank You for Your instruction, to cast all our cares upon You.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You care for us.

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

1-Peter 5: 6-7

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

1-Peter 5: 8-9

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
