Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You determined allotted periods, and the boundaries of the nations.

And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

Acts 17: 26

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You have set the times and the boundaries of the nations so that they would seek You, and perhaps feel their way towards You and find You.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You are not very far away from each on e of us.

Lord God, cause me to seek after You and find You.

Lord God, keep me in remembrance that You are never far from me.

That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

Acts 17: 27

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that in You we live and have our being.

Lord God, keep me in remembrance, that is You I live and have my being.

For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

Acts 17: 28

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You have appointed a day on which You will judge the world in righteousness by a man You have appointed.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that You have given assurance to all, that You have appointed a day on which You will judge the world in righteousness by a man You have appointed, by raising him from the dead.

Lord God, thank You for giving us assurance that Your Son will judge the world in righteousness.

Lord God, bestow honor for Your Son in my heart, and place honor for him on my lips.

Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

And when Silas and Timotheus were come from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in the spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus was Christ. Lord God, thank You for Your encouraging Paul to speak and give testimony of You, and to not be afraid.

Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:  For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.

Lord God, cause me to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.

Lord God, cause me to receive the baptism of repentance.

Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that Paul was to go bound in the Spirit to  Jerusalem, not knowing what things would happen to him there, except the Holy Ghost had witnessed to him that in every city, imprisonment and afflictions awaited him.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that imprisonment and afflictions did not keep Paul from the work You had for him to do, and that he did not count life dear to himself.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that Paul wished to finish his course with joy, which he had received from the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of Your grace.

Lord God, cause me to not let imprisonment and afflictions keep me from the work You have for me to do.

Lord God, cause my ministry to be filled with joy.

And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:  Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me. But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that all those who are sanctified are able to receive an inheritance.

Lord God, sanctify me to Yourself, then with the word of Your grace, build me up, and cause me to receive an inheritance.

And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

Lord God, thank You for letting Paul know what he would have to endure, for Your glory.

And as we tarried there many days, there came down from Judaea a certain prophet, named Agabus.  And when he was come unto us, he took Paul's girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.

And when we heard these things, both we, and they of that place, besought him not to go up to Jerusalem. Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

Lord God, cause me to be obedient in doing Your will, and doing what I am instructed by Your Word.

And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.

Acts 22: 14

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that Paul was chosen by You to be a witness to all men, of what he had seen and heard from the Just One.

Lord God, if I have not yet obeyed, cause me to be baptized as soon as possible, be cleansed of my sins, and to call on Your name.

And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome.

Acts 23: 11

Top of Page    Chapter 24

But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets: And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

Acts 24: 14-15

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that we should strive to have a clear conscience toward You.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that we should strive to have a clear conscience toward men.

Lord God, cause me to have a heart, that strives to have a clear conscience, towards both You, and my fellow man.

And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.

Lord God, give my accusers nothing to accuse me about, except possibly about Christ crucified, and my affirming him to be alive.

Against whom when the accusers stood up, they brought none accusation of such things as I supposed:  But had certain questions against him of their own superstition, and of one Jesus, which was dead, whom Paul affirmed to be alive.

Lord God, cause my eyes to be opened, turned from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to You, that I might receive forgiveness of sins, and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith that is in You.

Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that Paul believed You, that it would be as it was told to him.

Lord God, cause me to be of good cheer, being steadfast in my trust that everything will be as You have told me in Your word.

For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.
