arrow_up_1     Chapter 120

Lord God, I cried to You in my distress, and you answered me.

In my distress I cried unto the LORD, and he heard me.

Lord God, deliver me from those who have deceitful lips, and who slander me.

Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue.

Psalm 120: 2

Lord God, thank You for Your truth, that those who have deceitful lips, and who slander people will inherit Your wrath.

Lord God, cause my words about others to be righteous, and words that bring life, not death.

What shall be given unto thee? or what shall be done unto thee, thou false tongue?  Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.

Psalm 120: 3-4

Lord God, have mercy on me, and consider who I have to live with.

Woe is me, that I sojourn in Mesech, that I dwell in the tents of Kedar!

Psalm 120: 5

Lord God, have mercy on me, for I dwell with ungodly men. I want peace, but when I speak, they are for war.

My soul hath long dwelt with him that hateth peace. I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war.

Psalm 120: 6-7
